With the wonderful work that rescue groups have been doing on such a large scale, states found it necessary to get involved. With movement of pets comes movement of disease/parasites. Initially, the task was daunting for rescue groups and some could not continue with the demands placed on them. For the remaining and upcoming groups, the new guidelines have helped improve overall well-being for pets in rescue and helps assure the public that they are adopting a healthy pet.
